Children’s Reading Comprehension and Motivation on Screen Versus on Paper

The young generation, born into digital technologies and called Millennials or the Y-Generation, are raised in a world where everybody has computer their pockets (Hamari et al., 2014), they constantly engaged activities. However, research on impact of devices learners’ educational performance motivation is still an emerging field. This article aims to examine perceptions sixth-grade students Turkey e-reading experiences basis personalized/gamified/PDF electronic reading practices school influences comprehension levels English as foreign language (EFL) classroom. study follows quasi-experimental approach with four treatment groups control group, involving 96 state Turkey. three read order from for 5 weeks whereas group used printed guided program. results indicate that EFL use screen potential increase students. no significant difference was observed despite different medium experimental groups.
